Explore Tadoba National Park
Tadoba is the oldest park in the state of Maharashtra. It is also been referred as Jewel of Vidharbha. Tadoba got notified at the sametime when Kanha got its notification in1955. Over the years not only the area of the of the park has increased from mere 116 sq km to 1852 Sq kms, but also the tiger numbers has increased from just only 19 tigers in 2010 to 88 tigers in 2016. There are more than 40 mammalian species and more than 200 birds species found in Tadoba. Talking about mammals tiger, leopard, wild dog, sloth bear and Indian bison are in top 5 of the ranking and in birds CHE, CSE, Brown Fish owl, Asian paradise flycatchers and OHB are the major tourist attraction.
Geographically the park is divided in 3 zones: Tadoba, Maohurli and Kosla Zone. The main tourism happens in Tadoba and Mohurli Zone. Tigers namely MAYA, MATKSASUR, CHOTITARA and Sonam are presently ruleing the entire tiger sighting of Tadoba.
Unlike other parks the best things with Tadoba is, Tadoba is zone free tourism area. Tourist can enter from any of the gate of Tadoba and can explore the entire forest. The tourism entrance gate of Tadoba are Mohurli, Kuthwanda, Kolara, Navegoan, Zhari and Pangdi. Kuthwanada, Mohurli and Kolara are the commercial gates where best of the wild life resorts are available for the tourists.
As per the NTCA guidelines, Tadoba had done extremely well in creating and promoting buffer tourism. In all there are 6 buffer tourism zone/gate in tadoba. Majorly in south and north end of the park. Agarzhari Devada and Junona are at the South Side of the park, which can be easily accessible for the tourist staying around Kuthwanda and Mohurli gates of the park. Irai, A beautiful reservoir makes the south west boundary of the park. A boat safari, which is the best to explore the bird’s life, has been started in the Irai reservoir. It is recommended to include a boat safari in Itinerary. World famous tigers namely Waghdoh, Madhuri n Cubs , Sharmili and Aishwarya are the major tourist attraction in buffer zone of Agarzhari, Junona and Devada. Most of the tourist has also sighted these tigers during a boat safari. In the north end lies Kolara 2, Ramdegi, Madnapur and Alizhanza buffer zone. Mayas sibling P3 and Junabai female is the dominant tigress of this zone.

Pangdi and Zhari Gate:
These are the core zone gate to access the Kolasa range of Tadoba. There are some small cottages available near Pangdi and Zhari Gate. All these small cottages/home stay provide clean accommodation and most have attached bathrooms as well as serve local delicious homemade food.
